The exposed data reportedly included names, dates of birth, addresses, phone numbers, passports, driving licences and verification selfies. Some customer notifications also indicated that account statements and transaction histories, potentially including Bitcoin activity, may have been accessed.
Revolut described the incident as a “sophisticated external impersonation scam” and said a limited number of customers were affected. The company blocked the email address, alerted the relevant government agency, law enforcement and regulators, and stated that its systems and customer funds remain unaffected.
