🔈🔈 BREAKING: Ethereum moves toward wallets that don’t depend on a single private key 💥 Vitalik Buterin and Ethereum developers are pushing EIP-8141 (Frame Transactions) as a major component of the upcoming Hegotá upgrade. The idea could fundamentally change how Ethereum wallets work 👀 🔐 Lose a key? Accounts could support native key rotation, meaning users may be able to change their authorization method without moving assets to a new address. ⚡️ Multiple actions in one transaction Approvals, swaps and other operations can be bundled into a single transaction instead of requiring multiple signatures. 🎁 No ETH for gas? Apps or other accounts could sponsor transaction fees, allowing users to interact with Ethereum without holding ETH specifically for gas. 🛡 More flexible security EIP-8141 also creates a path toward multisig, alternative signature schemes and eventually post-quantum security without requiring Ethereum to introduce a completely new transaction format every time. The Ethereum Foundation has now ranked EIP-8141 as a Tier-S, execution-layer headliner for Hegotá, alongside FOCIL on the consensus layer. 🔴 Important: EIP-8141 is not live on Ethereum mainnet yet. It remains under development and testing, with Hegotá targeted for 2027. If implemented as planned, Ethereum wallets could become much closer to smart accounts by default — simpler for newcomers, more flexible for developers, and significantly harder to break with a single lost key.
