Former SEC and CFTC officials urged a lighter regulatory approach to bring crypto perpetual futures trading onshore in a letter addressing an offshore market that Kalshi estimates topped $90 trillion in 2025. The SEC sent a planned rewrite of its crypto custody rules to the White House for review. The SEC's Reg Crypto proposal is open for public comment until October 20.
