Ontology said its core development team found a potential security risk during routine safety checks and immediately suspended mainnet block production to allow a full security review of the network and related components. According to Foresight News, the team and validators are examining the issue, and Ontology said no security incident has been confirmed.

The project said there is no indication that user assets have been lost or stolen, and ONT, ONG, and other on-chain assets are not affected based on the current assessment. The suspension is a preventive measure rather than a response to confirmed asset losses or an ongoing attack.

Block production will remain paused during the review, and on-chain transactions cannot be processed. Users do not need to move or take any action regarding their ONT, ONG, or other on-chain assets, but they should avoid time-sensitive on-chain transactions until the network officially confirms recovery.

The duration of the suspension has not been determined. Ontology said it will prioritize a thorough security review over speed and will not resume block production until the network has been fully assessed and confirmed safe. The team is working with validators and ecosystem partners and will provide updates through official channels, with separate announcements before and after the network resumes.
