Charles Schwab announced on August 27, 2026, that it will expand Schwab Crypto by adding Solana (SOL), Avalanche (AVAX), and Chainlink (LINK) for eligible clients to buy and sell in the coming months.
The move marks the first expansion beyond Bitcoin and Ethereum, which became available when Schwab Crypto began rolling out in May 2026. Clients will be able to trade the new assets alongside traditional investments through Schwab.com, the Schwab Mobile app, and thinkorswim.
Joe Vietri, Head of Digital Assets at Charles Schwab, said the additions give clients “more choices to build a digital asset allocation alongside the investing and banking experience they know and trust at Schwab.” The company described the tokens as established cryptocurrencies that align with client demand.
Schwab charges 75 basis points (0.75%) on the dollar value of each crypto trade. The service is offered through Charles Schwab Premier Bank and is currently unavailable in New York, Louisiana, U.S. territories, and international jurisdictions. Schwab indicated it plans to add further cryptocurrencies and digital assets over time.
No exact launch date was provided, and the firm noted it may delay, change, or withdraw support based on market, regulatory, operational, or risk factors.$SOL $LINK $AVAX
