$CRCL Circle to Discontinue CCTP V1 on Oct 31, Mandatory Migration to CCTP V2

Circle has announced the discontinuation of the Cross-Chain Transfer Protocol (CCTP) V1, a process starting on October 31, 2026, and concluding on December 1, 2026.

🔸 Migration is mandatory. Applications currently using CCTP V1 must switch immediately to avoid disruptions to cross-chain USDC transfers.

🔸 CCTP V2 introduces two transfer modes (Standard and Fast) and programmable "Hook" functionality, while supporting 27 blockchains. CCTP V2 is not backward compatible with V1.

🔸 Starting October 31, V1 transfer limits will be gradually reduced until they reach zero. On December 1, V1 contracts will be permanently halted.

👉 This is a significant move by Circle to drive developer adoption of CCTP V2. The discontinuation of V1 is a requirement rather than a recommendation, signaling Circle's push to accelerate infrastructure upgrades. DeFi projects and exchanges must act promptly to prevent USDC liquidity disruptions. While CCTP V2’s new features promise an improved user experience, the migration must be completed on schedule.

💬 Are you ready for the transition from CCTP V1 to V2? Have you encountered any difficulties during this process?
