Central banks bought 289 tonnes of gold in the second quarter, valued at about $47.38 billion. Poland bought 51 tonnes, while China added 33 tonnes. JPMorgan forecasts that gold could reach $6,000 an ounce by the end of the year, which would represent a gain of about 29%.
