Instead of making the user manually construct the route, it aggregates liquidity and allows competing resolvers to find routes for orders.
That changes the user experience significantly.
The important innovation isn't simply "cross-chain swaps."
It's abstraction.
Users shouldn't necessarily need to understand every step between Chain A and Chain B. They should be able to define what they want to exchange while the infrastructure handles the complicated routing underneath.
That is the direction I think cross-chain DeFi needs to move toward.
