Dusk’s PLONK Play: Privacy Without Killing Compliance
I keep coming back to one thing about Dusk: privacy doesn’t have to mean hiding everything.
Think about KYC for a second. An investor might need to prove they’re eligible to buy an asset, but why should their full personal information end up sitting on a public blockchain?
That’s where PLONK gets interesting.
The basic flow is pretty simple:
PLONK → ZK proof → verification → privacy + compliance
You prove the requirement without exposing all the information behind it.
And honestly, that’s the part I like most. Dusk isn’t just chasing “more privacy” for the sake of it. The bigger idea is selective disclosure reveal what actually needs to be verified and keep the rest private.
That could be a big deal for real-world financial use.
Also, this isn’t just a concept sitting on paper. PLONK V3 has already reached Dusk mainnet through the Aegis upgrade.
My take? The interesting future isn’t fully private or fully transparent.
It’s being able to choose what gets revealed when and why.
