I used to think blockchain efficiency was mainly about lower fees and using less energy.
But the more I think about financial systems, the more I feel that this is only one part of the story.
What happens when the network gets much busier? More users, more transactions, more financial activity. Can the system keep working well without the cost and resource pressure growing with it?
This is what made me look at @DuskNetwork a little differently.
With the Dusk Mainnet Beta, I’m more interested in the idea behind the network than in simply watching another blockchain launch. Dusk is trying to build infrastructure where efficiency is part of how the network operates, rather than something added later.
That sounds important for financial applications. A system that works fine with limited activity is one thing. A system that can handle real activity over a long period is a very different test.
But this is also where I have some doubt.
Good architecture alone does not bring users, liquidity or real financial activity. Those things still have to be earned.
So I’m watching the Mainnet Beta with one simple question:
If financial activity really starts growing on Dusk, will its approach to efficiency prove useful in the real world, or will the bigger challenge be somewhere else?
