🚨 CANADA HITS BACK WITH 50% TARIFFS ON U.S. GOODS 🇨🇦🇺🇸
Canada has announced retaliatory tariffs of 15%, 25% and up to 50% on about C$27.6 billion ($20B) worth of U.S. imports.
The measures target more than 700 American products, including steel, aluminum, dairy, appliances, electronics, clothing and machinery. They will take effect on September 8, 2026.
Canada says the tariffs are a “dollar-for-dollar” response to the latest U.S. tariffs imposed on Canadian goods. Ottawa is also providing C$7.5 billion in additional support for affected workers and businesses.
⚠️ The U.S.–Canada trade war is escalating — and markets will be watching closely.
