$XDC just dropped XDC AI — basically letting agents pay for services automatically without needing a human to sign every transaction. They're using the x402 standard plus gasless $USDC settlement.

The core insight: machine payments only become real when you remove both the friction (fees) and the permission layer (approvals). That's the same problem $PI has been solving on the consumer side.

This matters because most "autonomous agent" demos still require someone to manually approve every payment. If an AI has to ask permission each time, it's not autonomous — it's just a fancy API with extra steps.

Gasless + auto-approval is the unlock. Once agents can transact without human intervention, you get actual machine-to-machine commerce instead of theater.
