Why Adding to a Maturing Stake Skips the 90/10 Split

‎Went back through Dusk's own staking documentation specifically to trace what happens when someone adds to a stake that isn't fully active yet since the standard 90/10 top up rule felt like it should apply universally and it doesn't.$TAC

‎What's confirmed if your stake is already active and you add more 90% of that new amount becomes active immediately earning rewards right away. The remaining 10% stays inactive locked until you fully unstake. But Dusk's own documentation states this split specifically applies to an already active stake if you add to a stake still sitting inside its original maturity period the top up simply follows normal maturity instead with no 90/10 division at all.

‎Worth being precise about the timing window this creates. There's a specific state stake submitted not yet matured where the entire 90/10 mechanism doesn't apply yet because nothing about the stake is active to split percentages from in the first place.$ONG

‎What I haven't confirmed is whether Dusk's own interface clearly signals to a user which of these two states their stake is currently in before they add funds or whether that distinction is something a staker has to track themselves.

‎Next thing I'd check whether recent Rusk Wallet updates surfaced this state distinction more visibly to users or left it as documentation only knowledge.
