SOL CROSSED $100. TWO VOTES ARE WHY 🚨📈🗳️
Bitcoin is near about $80,000, so most large alts ran. 🟢
Why SOL ran 🚀
🔶 SGP-0002 / SIMD-0550 = cut new SOL faster
🔷 SGP-0003 / SIMD-0553 = make heavy transfers pay more, and burn that extra fee
Stakers vote from 22 August through about 27 August 2026. A yes is a mandate. Code would still ship later in 2026. 📅
What SIMD-0550 does 📉
SOL has no max supply. Inflation (new coins created each year) started at 8% and now sits near 3.82%. That rate falls 15% each year until a 1.5% floor around 2032. This vote doubles that yearly drop to 30%, so the floor arrives around 2029. About 18.9 million fewer SOL over 6 years (about $1.9B near today's about $100).
What SIMD-0553 does 🔥
Today a tiny transfer and a heavy swap can pay the same base fee: 5,000 lamports per signature (lamports = the tiny unit of SOL). Extra computer work is almost free after that.
1) 2,500 lamports inclusion fee goes to the block leader
2) a resource fee from compute and data requested is burned in full (removed forever)
Models put daily burn near 7,500 to 9,000 SOL at the final rate if demand stays the same, vs about 648 SOL burned a day now.
It still does not make $SOL deflationary (supply falling). The chain still mints about 61,000 new SOL a day.
This vote needs about 33% of stake to show up. As of 25 August 2026, public numbers put SGP-0002 yes near 16% of all stake, and SGP-0003 yes near 13%. Turnout is the real risk. ⚠️
Price: about $100 | ATH $293.31 | no max supply 🧭
