When I first came across $DUSK , I honestly put it in the “privacy L1” bucket and moved on.
But the more I looked at how it’s designed, the more I thought there was something slightly different going on.
The XSC standard is what caught my attention. Dusk isn’t just trying to make transactions private. It seems to be thinking about confidentiality at the smart-contract level, specifically for financial applications where making everything public isn’t always practical.
That makes the project more interesting to me. In traditional finance, sensitive information can’t simply be exposed to everyone, but blockchains usually lean heavily toward transparency. Dusk seems to be exploring the middle ground.
I’m still cautious, though. Good infrastructure doesn’t automatically mean real adoption. I’d want to see consistent users, meaningful application activity, and actual liquidity before getting too bullish on the thesis.
What I’m most curious about is the on-chain data: is Dusk already seeing genuine financial usage, or is most of the story still ahead?
