Honestly, I'm numb to the "compliant privacy" pitch—they all blur together. But last weekend I was digging through Dusk's on-chain data and something felt off.

Mainnet's been live six months. 70+ validators. APR dropped 27% to 22%. Looks fine until you check fee revenue: last 300 transactions—$600 total. If NPEX actually moves hundreds of millions in bonds on-chain, fees would be a few hundred bucks. That math is broken.

Burn? Daily issuance ~170k DUSK, burn ~22k. Sounds decent, but in dollar terms, that daily burn won't even cover a nice dinner in NYC. It's psychological, not economic.

Ecosystem: four contracts. Four. Eight months live and can't hit double digits. Institutions don't need many DApps? Maybe, but if devs won't build, what are institutions even doing here? A database is cheaper.

That €200M NPEX number? It's cumulative SME funding over a decade—old-school paper equity, not on-chain. DuskTrade isn't until 2026–2027. "Assets on-chain" is still a vision.

Not FUDing—they took six years to launch, so they're not rug-pulling. KYC for validators? That's just honest finance. Tech is legit.

But good tech ≠ token pumps. Price at $0.06–0.09, ~$50M MC. Not cheap, not expensive. If a year from now we're still clinging to NPEX and fees are still hundreds of dollars, why hold?

Watching two things: quarterly fee revenue growth, and whether a second institution actually shows up. Either one moves, I'll reconsider. Until then, small observer bag, no adds.

Just my honest read from staring at the explorer. Thoughts?
