Dusk Has Two Developer Paths. Is That an Advantage or a Problem?
Dusk gives developers two routes into the network, and I think that’s worth looking at more closely.
There’s DuskEVM, built around the tools many Ethereum developers already know, including Solidity and Vyper.
Then there’s DuskVM, the native environment using Rust/WASM and Dusk’s own execution model.
That gives developers some flexibility, but it also leaves a practical question.
If I’m discovering Dusk today and I want to build something, which environment should I pick?
The answer probably comes down to the application itself.
Someone bringing an existing EVM project may naturally lean toward DuskEVM. A developer looking deeper into Dusk’s native privacy and ZK capabilities may have a different reason to work directly with DuskVM.
So I’m less interested in whether having two options sounds good.
I’d rather see what developers actually choose once they start building.
That usage will tell us whether Dusk’s two-path approach is genuinely useful or simply adds another layer of decision-making.
Which route would you choose if you were building on Dusk today?
