I used to think bringing regulated finance onchain was mainly a tokenization problem: take an existing asset, put it onchain, and let the infrastructure handle the rest.

Looking more closely at @Dusk, that view feels a bit too simple.

What stands out is the focus on making more of the asset lifecycle native to the network, rather than treating blockchain as just a wrapper around traditional financial products. Privacy and compliance also seem to be considered as part of the underlying design, not as features to bolt on later.

DuskEVM makes that direction more interesting.

The familiar EVM environment lowers the barrier for developers, while Hedger introduces confidential workflows through homomorphic encryption and zero-knowledge proofs. So the question isn't simply whether institutions can use EVM infrastructure, but whether they can use it without exposing financial information that doesn't need to be public.

That changes how I think about the adoption problem.

The real test may not be whether the technology works, but whether reducing technical and privacy friction is enough to make developers and institutions build differently.

That’s what I’m watching as @Dusk moves toward DuskEVM mainnet: not just the technology, but whether real financial applications start making use of it.
