honestly it's kinda worth a look but don't go dumping your whole bag in, dusk is doing this confidential smart contract thing for actual securities, like tokenized bonds and stuff where the details are hidden from randoms browsing the chain but a regulator can still see it if they legally need to, which is a genuinely different angle than most privacy coins that just get delisted everywhere bc they're built to hide from literally everyone including the people who'd actually give them legitimacy. mainnet's been up since january and there's this NPEX thing, licensed exchange in the netherlands, apparently moved a few hundred million euros of real securities onto the chain which is honestly the part that makes me pay attention bc that's not some testnet larp, that's an actual regulated venue touching it
but there's a bunch of stuff that'd make me nervous putting real size on it, the whole "MiCA aligned" phrase people keep throwing around isn't the same as actually being approved under it and i feel like that gap gets glossed over constantly, and confidential contracts are just straight up harder to audit bc the whole point is outsiders can't see the state, so you're trusting their internal security more than you would with a normal public contract, and this industry already bleeds money from bugs when everything's visible so add a privacy layer and idk it makes me itchy. also one exchange piloting settlement isn't a market, it's a good headline with maybe more coming or maybe not, and the price action's been doing typical crypto stuff which i'd just ignore entirely if you're trying to actually judge whether the tech holds up or if it's mostly hype riding a partnership announcement
