I’ve been digging into Dusk’s latest work on private markets, and one thing changed the way I look at tokenization.

I used to think the main attraction was simply putting an SME share or bond on-chain.

Now I think the bigger value is connecting the whole ownership lifecycle: investor eligibility, issuance, ownership records, transfers, dividends, voting and settlement.

That matters because a token sitting on a blockchain doesn’t magically create buyers, legal certainty or liquidity.

Dusk’s recent SME research makes that point pretty clearly, especially through its NPEX work.

For me, the interesting question is whether tokenization can remove enough reconciliation and manual handoffs to make private-market finance genuinely easier to operate.

That’s a much bigger test than “can we tokenize an asset?”
