I’ve been thinking about DuskEVM from a slightly different angle lately. Saying EVM compatible” sounds useful, but honestly, that alone doesn’t tell me much. There are already plenty of places where developers can deploy Solidity apps.
What feels more interesting with $DUSK is what happens when those EVM applications sit above a settlement layer designed for regulated assets.
That changes the question for me. It’s not just whether an existing Ethereum app can run, but whether familiar EVM tooling can interact with assets that need stronger rules around ownership, compliance, and final settlement.
I think this is where DuskEVM becomes more interesting. Developers don’t necessarily have to learn an entirely new execution environment, while the underlying network can still handle requirements that normal DeFi infrastructure often doesn’t prioritize.
The part I’m watching is how this combination works in practice. If EVM apps can tap into Dusk’s settlement capabilities without sacrificing the developer experience they already understand, then compatibility becomes more than a migration feature.
It becomes a bridge between programmable applications and regulated financial infrastructure.
