I’m starting to think the most important number in DUSK tokenomics isn’t 1 billion. It’s the gap between emissions and real network demand.
Dusk starts with 500M DUSK and plans another 500M over 36 years, with emissions halving every four years. The first four-year period alone accounts for 250.48M DUSK.
But there’s another number I’m watching: 210M+ DUSK currently staked, according to Dusk’s official site. That means a meaningful share of the network’s supply is already tied to security rather than simply sitting idle.
And this is where the design gets interesting. DUSK is used for both gas and staking, while transaction fees are added to block rewards alongside newly emitted tokens.
So the long-term test isn’t simply whether emissions decline. It’s whether actual usage—transactions, gas and fees—can become increasingly important as emissions shrink.
My concern remains timing. If adoption grows slowly, dilution can stay ahead of demand for longer than expected.
Can real network activity catch up with the emission curve before incentives become the bigger economic force?
