I think I was using the word “settled” too early.
Suppose a bond appears in the buyer’s wallet. Fine. That part is done. But the seller may still be waiting for euros somewhere else, and I kept treating both moments as if they happened together.
They might not.
The NPEX and Quantoz part of Dusk’s plan is meant to deal with that gap. NPEX is the regulated venue. EURQ could be used for the euro payment, while Dusk Trade is being built to connect the payment with the bond transfer. DuskDS makes the onchain record final.
I get the idea. What I haven’t found is a public example of a security and EURQ going through the whole process on Dusk.
And I don’t only want the easy demonstration where everything works. I want the awkward one. The payment begins, then the bond transfer fails. What happens to the EURQ? Is it returned? Is it stuck? If parts of the transaction are private, who gets to inspect them when the buyer and seller disagree?
That would tell me more than another claim about fast settlement. If a bank or some other outside system still handles part of the trade, show that too.
I don’t expect the first version to be perfect. I just want to know where the blockchain stops and the old system starts.
