In calm markets, transparency feels like the obvious answer. But when volatility hits, too much visibility can create its own problems. Sensitive positions become exposed, participants react faster, and coordination can become harder.
That’s where Dusk’s design starts to make sense to me.
Its layer one architecture and Confidential Security Contract standard are aimed at letting financial applications use blockchain while keeping certain information confidential. The difficult part is balancing privacy with verification. Institutions cannot simply hide everything. They still need ways to prove that rules were followed.
I see this like a city’s plumbing. You don’t need every pipe exposed to the public, but engineers still need controlled access to inspect the system when pressure rises.
That’s the real test for Dusk.
Can confidentiality work efficiently when transaction activity increases, users demand fast settlement, and compliance requirements become more complicated?
I’m not treating the technology as a guarantee of adoption. Infrastructure only matters when people actually use it.
