gn. wasn't planning on reading exchange news tonight, just checking a random ticker and fell straight into this GRAM story.

TON just finished going back to its original name. Gram was what Telegram called this token back in 2018 before the whole project got shut down, and now it's the name again, not TON, not Toncoin. Durov himself announced the switch.

what actually caught me is Binance US adding more utility to the GRAM token just 23 hours ago, on top of Binance already confirming support for the rebrand and setting a delisting date for the old TON ticker. exchanges don't usually bother rewiring rails and setting delisting deadlines for a simple name change.

$GRAM is sitting at $1.44, up 7.95% this week. a name change alone doesn't move a chart like that, so either the market thinks this rebrand means something or it's riding pure nostalgia off Durov's name.

i keep going back and forth on whether going back to the name that got the project into trouble the first time is confidence or just tone deaf.
