Seeing a lot of $8000 gold calls lately. Not buying it.

Look at the 6-month candle for H1 2026 — long upper wick, small body. Almost identical structure to H2 2011. That wick is the second-longest in history, only beaten by H1 1980.

Both those periods? Classic cycle tops. Long wicks = rejection at highs. Small bodies = no follow-through.

Gold's running hot right now, but this setup screams distribution, not breakout. If you're long, watch for that wick to form and take profits before it closes. History says the next 6 months after that candle prints won't be kind.

Cycle students know: when the wick's that long, the party's over.
