Digging into Dusk’s “issuance to settlement” pitch this week, the thing that actually stood out wasn’t NPEX — it was what didn’t move.
Dusk’s team disclosed on August 16 that a monitored wallet tied to bridge operations showed unusual behavior. Their response: pause bridge services, disable and recycle the flagged addresses, and explicitly tie the bridge reopening timeline to the pending DuskEVM launch. That’s notable because DuskEVM is the layer meant to extend settlement into EVM-compatible venues — so the expansion side of the stack is currently gated behind a security review of a single wallet, not a protocol fault.
What I went looking for next: whether NPEX’s tokenized-securities settlement activity on the base DuskDS layer showed any disruption in the same window. I couldn’t find one — no public breakdown of NPEX transaction counts exists that I could verify independently, so I can’t confirm volumes held steady, only that no outage was reported there.
So the pattern reads as: core settlement kept running, cross-chain expansion paused. Worth separating those two before assuming either “resilience” or “risk.”
Does anyone have visibility into NPEX’s actual settlement counts during this window, or is that data simply not public yet?
