CHRONICLES OF A NEW TRADER
Chapter 6: The Trade That Humbled Me
This morning, I woke up to a trade in profit.
Not a big profit, but green is green.
My first instinct was to close it. I know myself—I have closed good trades too early because I was afraid of losing the little profit I had.
But this time, I paused.
The setup was still valid. The market was still in an uptrend. BTC was making moves, and my trade had not reached my TP yet.
So I decided to be patient.
Then I looked away to analyze another market.
And before I could say Jack Robinson…
A sharp dip.
Just like that, the trade turned against me.
And that's when trading taught me another lesson.
Not every losing trade is a bad trade.
I had a plan.
The setup was valid.
I didn't enter out of FOMO.
I didn't abandon my analysis.
The market simply did what the market does.
It moved.
That was the part I needed to understand.
Patience doesn't guarantee profit.
A good setup doesn't guarantee profit.
Even good analysis can meet an unexpected move.
The goal isn't to make every trade a winner.
The goal is to make sure one losing trade doesn't make you lose your discipline.
So I'm not chasing the loss.
I'm not rushing into another trade.
I'm taking the lesson and moving on.
A trader who understands that good trades can still lose is already learning to think differently.
One trade failed.
The lesson didn't.
