The more closely I look at @Dusk , the more I realize that staking is not a standalone part. It is quite clearly connected to the direction the network is choosing, especially the ambition to bring regulated financial products onto the blockchain.

$DUSK ’s supply is capped at 1 billion tokens. 500 million existed from the beginning, while the remaining 500 million will be released into the market in phases. In the first 4 years, each block is expected to create an additional 19.8574 DUSK, then the issuance rate will be adjusted in the following phases.

However, these data alone do not give me much perspective.

I became more interested when staking was no longer limited by the traditional way of participating. With Hyperstaking, @Dusk opens the way for smart contracts to interact directly with the staking mechanism, instead of users having to prepare the infrastructure themselves and meet the 1,000 DUSK requirement to run a node.

At first glance, this could simply be a change in how the system operates, but its impact may not stop at the technical side.

@Dusk ’s XSC aims to bring privacy-enabled smart contracts and financial assets into the same infrastructure layer, while the ecosystem is also expanding into oracle infrastructure and tokenized securities.

Looking at the old model, I see that this change is not only about expanding the validator base. It also gives #dusk ’s security layer more ways to connect with applications running on the network.

This could create a significant difference, but it could also simply be a natural step for the infrastructure to keep up with the direction Dusk has already set.

The part I am most curious about right now is how much real activity DUSK has created.

How many financial transactions have actually taken place on the network, or does most of the story still lie in the products being built and the future direction?
