Foresight News reported that whale trader Jasonleo said he reopened a Bitcoin short position near $76,000 after closing a previous short. He said his view was that the current bull market had returned, but that price should rise in a choppy trend rather than move straight to $84,000 or even $90,000, and he had not seen macro or market-structure signals supporting that move.
According to Foresight News, Jasonleo said Bitcoin briefly climbed to $79,500 after he entered the position, and his planned stop-loss was not executed because the system failed to fill the order. He said he has since reduced most of the short position to control risk, while noting that if the rally continues aggressively, $82,000 and $84,000 are both possible.
He said the remaining position will be monitored, and if the daily candle closes above $80,500, he will treat the trade as wrong, close all positions, and pause trading for a period. If price weakens again, he may add back the reduced short position, but he said he is not interested in reopening long positions at the current level. Jasonleo added that he had already judged the area near $63,000 last month to be a short-term bottom, and that view has not changed. He said he remains bullish on BTC over the medium to long term, describing the short trade as a bet on a pullback during the uptrend rather than a renewed bearish view, and said he still expects BTC to reach $100,000 in March next year.
