When I first came across @Dusk , I honestly thought it was just another L1 making the usual privacy pitch.
But the more I read, the more I realized that probably isn't the most interesting part.
What stood out to me is the way Dusk approaches privacy around financial assets. The goal doesn't seem to be making everything invisible. It's more about giving applications control over what should remain confidential while still keeping the rules around an asset enforceable.
That makes the XSC standard more interesting than I initially gave it credit for.
For financial markets, privacy isn't necessarily about hiding everything. Sometimes it's about keeping sensitive ownership or transaction details private while still being able to prove that the required conditions are being met.
That feels like a much more practical problem to solve.
Of course, good architecture doesn't automatically mean real adoption. I’d still want to see stronger evidence from actual users, asset activity, transaction volume and liquidity before drawing bigger conclusions.
The part I’m still trying to understand is simple: is Dusk already seeing meaningful financial activity on-chain, or is the real story still ahead of the usage data?
