UNDER THE HOOD WHY DUSK CHOSE KADCAST FOR PREDICTABLE NETWORK PERFORMANCE

I’ve spent more time looking at DUSK’s networking layer and Kadcast stands out because it tackles a problem that’s easy to overlook how predictable message delivery stays when the network gets busy

Traditional gossip is simple and resilient Nodes share information with their peers those peers pass it on and eventually the message spreads The downside is obvious at scale duplicated messages can eat bandwidth while propagation times can become less consistent

Kadcast uses a structured overlay instead I’d compare it to having defined delivery routes rather than hundreds of couriers improvising their own path That can cut unnecessary communication and make data dissemination easier to reason about

For institutional style trading I think that predictability matters almost as much as speed DUSK doesn’t just need to be fast it needs consistent network behavior when demand increases

Still I wouldn’t treat the architecture as a free lunch A structured network has to handle nodes joining leaving failing or behaving badly without losing its advantages

That’s what I’ll be watching as DUSK gets more real usage

When blockchain activity scales would you rather have predictable latency or chase the highest possible throughput
