i keep thinking if Phoenix needs to leave something public behind when i spend shielded DUSK, then the private part probably isn't that private after all.
like okay. Phoenix says the DUSK lives through encrypted notes. fine. i spend the note, new shielded outputs appear, and the old note is supposed to be finished.
but then Dusk still leaves a nullifier behind.
so what is that, exactly?
because my first instinct is dumb and simple. if something public has to appear so everyone knows the Phoenix note can't come back again, then surely that public thing is leaking the spend more than Dusk wants to admit.
except apparently the nullifier isn't there to retell the payment. it is there to kill the old note.
that difference keeps catching me because the nullifier can tell everyone this old Phoenix note is finished without telling them where that DUSK went next.

and the Phoenix side still reaches the Transfer Contract and DuskDS with that nullifier sitting there publicly, while the shielded movement itself is something the nullifier never actually explained.
