Spent the afternoon digging through Dusk's staking dashboard for the Binance Square task and honestly what made me pause wasn't the APY line it was the fine print right below it.
Minimum stake is 1,000 DUSK no upper cap straightforward so far. But here's the thing newly staked DUSK doesn't start earning immediately. It sits through a maturity window roughly 2 epochs~4320 blocks before it's even eligible for consensus duty under Succinct Attestation's sortition "Stake and earn" sounds instant. It isn't.
Pull the string further and penalties aren't a flat slash either misbehaving offline stake gets routed into a claimable rewards pool instead of just vanishing which changes the actual risk math most people quote off the top of their head.
Grabbed a coffee mid task and kept turning this over. I'd assumed activation was immediate it's not and that lag matters if you're timing entries around a campaign deadline.
Curious how many stakers actually check their eligibility block versus just assuming it's live?
