I keep seeing DUSK staking discussed mainly through the reward rate
But after looking at how it actually works, I think that misses the more interesting part. DUSK staking is not simply: lock tokens → get a fixed return. Your rewards are tied to things like consensus participation and how much active stake you have relative to the network. Theres also a minimum of 1,000 DUSK for direct staking and activation usually takes around 6–12 hours. What I like about this design is that the stake actually has a job. Its helping provisioners participate in consensus and, ultimately helping secure the network. So when I look at the staking side of DUSK I am less interested in a screenshot showing an APR. I am more interested in whats happening underneath that number. Where are the rewards coming from?? What is the stake actually doing?? That tells me a lot more than the headline yield. A high reward rate can catch attention. The mechanism behind it is what makes me want to keep watching.
