I didn’t want to chase this BTC move — the reaction after the breakout is what matters now.

$BTC — BREAKOUT IS HERE, BUT CONFIRMATION MATTERS

Current price: ~$71,400

24H: ~+9% to +11%

24H High: ~$72,397

24H Low: ~$68,853

The structure has changed quickly. BTC pushed out of the recent consolidation, reclaimed $70K and printed a fresh two-month high near $72.4K. The move has also been supported by heavy short liquidations, so this is real momentum — but it also means chasing the current candle carries more risk.

1H Market Structure

Higher highs and higher lows are now visible, with $70K becoming the first area I want bulls to defend.

The key zone is $70,000–$70,500. If BTC pulls back into this area and buyers step in, the breakout starts looking much healthier.

The Key Observation

The interesting part isn't simply BTC trading above $72K.

It's whether the market can hold above the previous breakout area after the initial short squeeze cools down.

That is where I want to see the next reaction.

Volume Check

The expansion is clearly stronger than the quiet trading that preceded the move, while the scale of short liquidations shows how aggressive the upside expansion has been. That supports the breakout, but it also raises the risk of a sharp retracement if late buyers start chasing.

What I Like

- Clean reclaim of the $70K area

- Strong upside momentum and expanding participation

- Higher-high / higher-low structure developing on the short-term chart

What I Don't Like

- BTC is already extended after a very fast move

- $72K–$72.4K is immediate overhead resistance

- A failed breakout could send price quickly back toward $70K or lower

My Plan

I'm not buying the vertical candle.

I want BTC to either pull back into the breakout zone and prove that old resistance has become support, or reclaim $72,400 with a convincing 1H close and follow-through.

TRADE SETUP

Bias: LONG

Strategy: Breakout + Retest Long

Timeframe: 1H

Entry: $70,100 – $70,700

Confirmation: 1H price must hold/reclaim the $70K area after the pullback, with buyers returning and no immediate rejection back below the breakout zone.

TP1: $72,300

TP2: $74,000

TP3: $75,800

TP4: $78,000

SL: $68,850

R:R: approximately 1:1.5 to TP1, 1:3 to TP2, and 1:4.5 to TP3 depending on entry.

Invalidation

A decisive 1H close below $68,850, especially if the breakdown comes with renewed selling pressure, would invalidate this bullish retest idea.

Final Market View

BTC has finally broken out of the recent compression, and the short-term structure is clearly stronger. But after a move this fast, the best trade may be the one that waits for the retest instead of chasing the breakout.

If $70K holds as support, I’ll be watching the $72.4K area next. If it fails, I would rather step aside than force a long.

Would you rather wait for the $70K retest, or trade a confirmed break above $72.4K?
