GUYSSS… what just happened in crypto was HUGE....

The market went from looking weak to absolutely crushing bearish positions in a matter of hours.

More than $3 billion worth of crypto short positions were liquidated across the two-day surge, as Bitcoin ripped through $70,000 and pushed toward the $72,000 region. Reports describe it as the biggest short-liquidation event since at least 2021.

Think about what that means.

For weeks, Bitcoin had been trapped inside a tight range. Traders kept betting that another drop was coming. Short positions became crowded.

Then BTC broke out.

Suddenly, traders betting against the market were forced out of their positions. That created additional buying pressure, which pushed prices higher and triggered even more liquidations.

That’s the short-squeeze effect and this one became massive.

At one point, more than $1 billion in Bitcoin shorts were reportedly liquidated in roughly one hour. Bitcoin then continued higher, eventually trading above $72,000.

But here’s where it gets even more interesting.

This wasn’t only Bitcoin.

Ethereum jumped roughly 18%, XRP gained around 10%, and buying spread across the broader crypto market. Around $190 billion was added to total crypto market value during the rally.

BTC opened the door and altcoins came running through it.

That’s exactly what traders need to watch now.

If Bitcoin can keep its reclaimed levels after such an aggressive squeeze, confidence could continue spreading into ETH and other major altcoins. But if BTC quickly loses those levels, it would suggest forced short covering played a bigger role than sustainable new demand.

And there are reasons to be cautious.

Some market analysis indicates that forced buying contributed heavily to the initial explosion higher. Short-term BTC holders have also moved significant amounts of Bitcoin to exchanges while sitting in profit, raising the possibility of profit-taking after the rally.

So this next phase matters more than the giant green candle.

Can Bitcoin turn $70K from resistance into support?

Can Ethereum continue outperforming?

Can SOL, XRP and the wider altcoin market hold their recoveries when the excitement cools?

If the answer starts becoming yes, then this move could develop into something much bigger than a one-day squeeze.

The bears just received a brutal reminder of how quickly crypto can flip.

$3 BILLION+ in shorts wiped out. Bitcoin above $70K. Altcoins flying.

The squeeze already happened.

Now we find out whether it was just fuel for one explosive move or the spark for the market’s next major leg.
