BREAKING: DEX Trading Volume Climbs Above $10 Billion
Decentralized exchange (DEX) trading volume has moved back above the $10 billion level.
According to the latest DeFiLlama data, daily DEX volume reached approximately $10.14 billion on 20 August 2026. This is the first time volume has crossed the $10 billion mark since 5 June.
What this means in simple terms:
> More trading is taking place directly on blockchain-based exchanges rather than only on traditional centralized platforms.
> Higher volume often reflects increased activity and interest from users who prefer to trade without going through a central company.
After several weeks of lower activity, the return above $10 billion shows a clear pick-up in on-chain trading.
A noticeable rise in decentralized trading activity.
