Everyone keeps saying institutions need blockchain.
I think they need something more specific:
A blockchain they can actually use.
Public-by-default finance has an obvious problem. You don't want sensitive positions, transactions and counterparties exposed to everyone forever.
That's where Dusk gets interesting.
Dusk is building a Layer-1 for financial applications where privacy isn't bolted on later. Its XSC standard supports confidential smart contracts, while zero-knowledge proofs can help prove what's necessary without exposing everything.
And there's another piece I find important:
privacy doesn't mean zero accountability.
The goal is to keep sensitive data private while still supporting verification and compliance.
That's a much more useful idea than simply saying "blockchain needs privacy."
Now comes the hard part.
Can Dusk attract real builders, real assets and real financial activity?
The tech is interesting.
Adoption is what I'll judge it on.
