#dusk $DUSK @Dusk I watched a provisioner miss its committee slot last night. Soft slash. Stake locked. Weight gone for a while. Node still online, just not counting. No burn. Operator will fix the sync and come back. Protocol treated it like downtime, not an attack.
Rewards do the same sort of sorting. Generator gets most of it. Extra only if the votes are all there. Otherwise some of it just vanishes. Committees still get their smaller cuts either way. So the one building the block has a reason to pull every credit in. The voters aren’t left waiting for the next time they might get drawn as proposer.
Emission is still fat Period 1 numbers. Most of the pot is new tokens right now. Later periods shrink it hard. If settlement volume doesn’t show up by then, the same split runs on thinner fuel. Not sure the operators stay once the subsidy thins. Soft locks keep honest mistakes cheap. Hard burns stay for the clear cases. System’s running. Few years from now the mint drops. Then we see if fees actually hold the operators.
