Blockchain environmental discussions can become emotional very quickly. One side highlights energy consumption, while another side focuses on technological progress. A more useful conversation should look at the actual architecture.
Different blockchain systems consume resources in different ways. Consensus design, networking, transaction processing, cryptographic operations, and smart-contract execution can all contribute to computational requirements.

The goal is to reduce waste while maintaining the features users actually need.
As blockchain moves toward financial infrastructure and real-world applications, efficiency will matter more than marketing claims.
