One thing I’ve never really liked about borrowing in DeFi is not knowing where the cost is going to end up.

You can start with a rate that looks fine, then a few weeks later the market moves and suddenly borrowing the same amount costs a lot more.

That’s what makes the fixed-rate approach from @TermMax interesting to me.

When you open a position, the rate and maturity are locked in from the start. So instead of constantly checking whether borrowing costs have changed, you already know what you’re working with until maturity.

I think that’s especially useful when you’re borrowing for weeks or months and actually need to plan around the capital.

Floating rates can work, but if you’ve ever had one move against you at the worst possible time, you’ll understand why having the terms locked upfront can be valuable.
