How to know when to buy, sell and stay out
1. When to CONSIDER BUYING
Look for 2-3 of these lining up, not just one:
- Market sentiment is fearful: When everyone’s panicking, "Crypto Fear & Greed Index" is in "Extreme Fear." Historically that’s when good entries happen
Bitcoin dominance + support levels: If BTC is holding a major support level and bouncing, alts usually follow. Big buyers step in at those zones
Fundamentals: New project launch, halving cycle, major adoption news, or you’ve done your research and believe in the long-term
Dollar Cost Averaging: Most beginners do better buying a small fixed amount weekly/monthly vs trying to nail the exact bottom
2. When to CONSIDER SELLING / TAKING PROFITS
- Greed is extreme: Fear & Greed Index in "Extreme Greed" + everyone on TikTok/WhatsApp is talking crypto
- You hit your target: Decide your exit price _before_ you buy. E.g. "I’ll sell 25% at 2x, 50% at 3x". Don’t move the goalpost
- Breaking major support: If BTC breaks and closes below a key weekly support level with volume, it can signal a bigger drop
- You need the money: Never invest money you’ll need in the next 6-12 months. Sell before you’re forced to
