I used to think transparency was one of blockchain’s biggest advantages.
But the more I look at institutional finance, the more I question that idea.
A bank, fund, issuer or investor may need transactions to be verifiable, but that doesn’t mean their positions, counterparties, payment details or customer data should become visible to everyone.
That’s where @Dusk_Foundation gets interesting to me.
Instead of treating privacy and verification as opposites, Dusk is trying to make them work together.
The network can verify that the right rules were followed without turning every piece of financial information into public data.
Maybe the future of on-chain finance isn’t:
“Everything is transparent.”
Maybe it’s:
“Everything that needs to be verified can be verified, while everything sensitive stays protected.”
For real financial markets, that distinction could matter more than raw blockchain speed.
If not everything is public on financial blockchains, can they still be truly transparent and trustworthy?
