One thing I don't usually look at first in a DeFi protocol is the yield.
I look at what happens when something goes wrong.
That's where TermMax gets interesting.
Its markets are structured separately, so an issue in one market isn't designed to automatically spread across the entire protocol. TermMax also uses curator-controlled risk parameters, and its security documentation describes a 4-of-6 multisig for critical administrative functions.
The protocol also uses Gearing Tokens (GTs) to represent leveraged positions, keeping collateral and debt information on-chain in a single NFT.
For TMX, the March 2026 whitepaper gives it a fixed maximum supply of 1 billion tokens and describes governance and staking as core utilities. It also says enhanced governance can include market-risk parameters and curator whitelisting.
That makes TMX more interesting to me than a token with a simple “governance” label.
The bigger question is whether these controls can actually remain effective as TermMax grows.
