What If You Could Prove Eligibility Without Revealing Who You Are?

Honestly, I first read about Citadel in @Dusk_Foundation whitepaper, I thought it was mainly about keeping identity private.

So I started looking a little deeper into how the whole thing actually works.

Whenever I use a smart contract on a transparent blockchain, I don't just think about what the transaction does. I also wonder how much information about me can become connected to that activity.

this is where I started thinking differently about Citadel.

If a service only needs to know that I am eligible, why should I have to reveal who I am?

A license provider first verifies the user and issues a license to a stealth address. Later, the user can generate a zero-knowledge proof showing that they hold a valid license without exposing the underlying credential.

then the transaction opens a session, and the session cookie can be shared privately with the service provider, which can verify the session without needing my actual identity.

this made me think

Maybe privacy isn't about hiding from compliance.

Maybe it's about not revealing more than compliance actually requires.

But yes, I could be wrong.

Could Citadel make private KYC a more practical part of on-chain services?
