tokenomics page, looking at how block rewards actually get divided.
Block generator takes 70%, plus up to an extra 10% depending on the credits included in the certificate. Any portion of that bonus that isn't earned gets burned, not redistributed.
That's the part that's easy to miss.
I expected the leftover reward to just roll over to the next block or get pooled somewhere. Instead, I realized it's permanently removed from supply if the generator doesn't include enough voter credits.
This isn't meant as criticism mechanically, it's a clean incentive design. It rewards generators for doing the extra work of aggregating votes rather than rushing a minimal block through.
It's a small mechanism, but it means network behavior itself not just the emission schedule has some quiet influence over circulating supply.
Is that kind of usage-driven burn meaningful at scale, or too marginal next to the 500M DUSK emission curve to matter?
