$ETH core developers are planning the next annual upgrade, Hegotá, and 66 Ethereum Improvement Proposals have entered the candidate list. According to Odaily, the proposals will be narrowed down in upcoming core developer meetings to determine which ones can be implemented, tested on devnets and testnets, and potentially go live in 2027.
FOCIL, or Fork-Choice Enforced Inclusion Lists, has already been selected as one of Hegotá's key upgrades. Developers said combining framework transactions (EIP-8141), keyed nonces (EIP-8250), and root references (EIP-8272) could help build native privacy features that would allow privacy applications to run without third-party intermediaries
