Kept refreshing the provisioner explorer instead of looking at the deck. One number just stuck and wouldn’t leave.
There’s a solid chunk of DUSK just sitting unclaimed right now. Not locked, not slashed, just sitting there. Plenty of provisioners active, APR looking solid, next epoch coming up soon. All live numbers, nothing theoretical.
The whole thing sells itself as smooth automatic staking where the rewards start flowing the second you’re in. But that unclaimed pile tells a different story. People stake, then go quiet, and claiming turns into this extra step most never bother with. The claim-compound-restake path isn’t where most of them actually live. Most are just parked.
Had a moment of doubt looking at it. Is the unclaimed stuff a quiet sign people trust it and don’t feel any rush, or is it just leftover friction nobody cleaned up? Still not sure.
Reminds me of those setups on other chains where the default ends up being leave money sitting because chasing it costs more attention than it feels worth.
Not trying to dunk on anything. Just the gap between the seamless rewards pitch and what’s actually sitting unclaimed feels wider than I expected.
Makes me wonder how much of it is deliberate patience and how much is simply forgotten.
