The $BNB Smart Chain Pasteur hard fork is scheduled for August 25, 2026 at 02:30 UTC. The official BNB Chain release notes confirm that the upgrade is planned for BSC mainnet.
This is not just a normal announcement.
The Pasteur upgrade includes several changes to the BNB Smart Chain, including improvements related to validators, block production and system contracts.
BNB Chain has also made major progress with network speed this year. According to BNB Chain, BSC now has around 0.65-second finality, compared with around 45 seconds in 2022.
That is a huge improvement.
For $BNB holders and traders, the important part is what happens to price and volume around the upgrade.
A major network upgrade can bring more attention to the ecosystem, but that does not mean BNB price will automatically pump.
